In the Philippines, the upsurge of the real estate and construction industry over the last decade has fueled many aggressive business enterprises to bring the concept of home depot centers to the country.

The general public’s wide acceptance of these so-called ‘one-stop’ shops, centers or showrooms was inevitable because of the changing habits and lifestyles of a future ‘homeowner’. Today, all of these hassles are answered by the emergence of home depot centers in the metropolis.

West Point Industrial Sales Co., Inc. has a 10-year impressive record in importation and wholesale of industrial and construction materials with superior, high quality product lines.

Adjacent to the Ortigas Home Depot which is under the final stages of construction is the soon to open Ortigas Auto Depot, Ortigas Computer Depot, a Tiangge/Bazaar Mall, the Seaside Market together with some restaurants and bars. A guarded parking area for over 800 automotive vehicles is also available to the clients. The Ortigas Home Depot is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Job Purpose:

•    Oversees the activities of the assigned area and supervises the employees assigned on it.
•    Ensures attainment of customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

GENERAL

•    Capable of answering direct customer inquiries and complaints (Provides excellent customer service to achieve customer satisfaction)
•    Scheduling of merchandisers and send schedule to ASM for finalization
•    Supervise and monitor activities of Merchandisers (assignment of daily tasks, merchandisers’ performance)
•    Conducts pep talks/morning and evening sessions for everyone’s concern
•    Checking of immediate price revisions

SELLING AREA

•    Monitor proper inventory of stocks in the selling floor (Requisitions from outright and consignment items esp. customer order, fast/slow moving items, availability of stocks)
•    Maintain proper display of items and stocks (pick-up/ reserved items).
•    Recommends purchase requisitions of outright and consignment items.
•    Supervise merchandisers.
•    Assist customers on their needs.
•    Submit recommended schedule of merchandisers.
•    Facilitate price revision activity and distribution of new codes/items in the selling area
•    Generates report on price survey
•    Monitors Plastic Bag Usage (AHD activity done by Receiving Team Leader)

CUSTOMER SERVICE

•    Entertain and assist customers.
•    Attend customer inquiries/ complaints.
•    Determine if item for return/ repair is acceptable
•    Prepare Merchandise Return Slip and Discount Form
•    Generates report on Discounts, Returns, etc.
•    Assist cashier in transaction problems (Handles override, item return, discount, and item void.)
•    Close and read POS terminals and settle card terminals.
•    Conducts end-of-day process
•    Resolve problems that may arise at the check out counter.
•    Perform cashiering tasks as the need arise (card transactions only) (BHD TL-also handles cash sales)

RECEIVING

•    Receiving item deliveries coming from suppliers and other branches (stock transfer) – merchandise and non-merchandise
•    Responsible in checking delivered items to be bar coded before it enters the selling area.
•    Responsible for proper cycle at the receiving area
•    Prepare weekly reports and submit those to MD, GM, OM, SM, and Purchasing. (For BHD, outright merchandiser can perform this activity)
•    Checking the stock status of receiving warehouse (Except for BHD)
•    Responsible in proper implementation of rules and regulation at the receiving area
•    Filing of documents received
•    Monitor Plastic Bag Inventory
•    Generate receiving documents such as Receiving Confirmation, Trans-In, and others.

DISPATCHING

•    In-charge in the proper dispatching of items for deliveries, assignment of delivery charge, and delivery schedules for specific location
•    Monitor activities of Dispatching Personnel (itinerary, etc.)
•    Maintain orderliness of dispatching area; items for pick-up, reserved items, items for delivery, items for pullout, etc. (except for BHD)
•    Generates reports on Deliveries (including customers’ after-sales feedbacks) and other Dispatching Activities (breakages, trans-out, pullout, RTV, and others as the need arise)
•    Handles maintenance of delivery trucks
•    Performs other tasks assigned from time to time

Qualifications:

•    Male/Female; 21 – 25 years old
•    Graduate of any four year course
•    Basic knowledge in Excel, Word
•    At least 1 year work experience in retail.

Knowledge and Job Skills Requirements:

•    Knowledge in Retail Operations
•    Keen to details
•    Computer Literate (can operate basic MS Programs)
•    Technical knowledge in merchandise

Soft Skills:

•    Above average verbal and written communication skills
•    People Skills
•    Leadership Skills
